Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

Here is the trailer from Focus Features’ upcoming film PROMISED LAND. The movie is directed by Gus Van Sant, starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Frances McDormand, Rosemarie DeWitt, Scoot McNairy, Titus Welliver, Hal Holbrook.

PROMISED LAND opens in select theatres on December 28th, 2012 and in theatres nationwide January 11, 2013!

Promised Land is the new contemporary drama directed by Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting, Milk). Matt Damon plays Steve Butler, an ace corporate salesman who is sent along with his partner, Sue Thomason (Frances McDormand), to close a key rural town in his company’s expansion plans. With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company’s offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief. What seems like an easy job for the duo becomes complicated by the objection of a respected schoolteacher (Hal Holbrook) with support from a grassroots campaign led by another man (John Krasinski), as well as the interest of a local woman (Rosemarie DeWitt). Promised Land explores America at the crossroads where big business and the strength of small-town community converge.

THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU Film Review

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Every once in a while you run into a movie that impacts you in a special way. Maybe it catches you off guard, or it was totally not what you were expecting, or maybe you were in the right frame of mind, or maybe you were just in a really good mood. I’m not necessarily talking about your Oscar winning movies though. I’m talking about that certain movie that might not have been too popular with the masses but for some reason you just love it. I don’t know, like Rocky Horror Picture Show, or Tron (the first one), or Anchorman, the Fifth Element, Cloverfield, Signs, or even The Family Man. The list can go on and on. Well on a very personal note, I’m adding this one to my list. READ FULL MOVIE REVIEW
