The Five year engagement takes a somewhat whimsical, but truthful look at what it means to be in love, each planning for future careers, and reaching the ‘career-fork’ in the road that many couples encounter, at some point in time. Simply put, this flick seems unafraid to take a long hard look at what really happens to relationships when life gets in the way of love.
Unfortunately, Nicholas Stoller and co-screenwriter/star Jason Segel never really achieve the side-splitting laughter of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, with this flick, but will please the duo’s fans all the same. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed their previous collaboration, then you would definitely take a liking to this movie. READ FULL REVIEW
