Phase 4 Films announce the DVD release of PARAISO TRAVEL in the United States and Canada on November 3, 2009. Starring Ana de la Reguera (Nacho Libre and Kevin Smith’s A Couple of Dicks), John Leguizamo (The Happening, Ice Age: Meltdown) and Margarita Rosa de Francisco (Fidel), the film was released theatrically in the U.S. in July 2009. Phase 4 Films is the new theatrical, DVD and television distribution company founded by former Peace Arch Home Entertainment President, Berry Meyerowitz .

Adapted from Jorge Franco’s acclaimed novel of the same name, PARAISO TRAVEL is the story of Marlon Cruz, a young Colombian man who, motivated by his beautiful girlfriend Reina, leaves his life in Colombia to illegally cross the border and find fortune in New York. Marlon’s journey, which takes him to through seedy strip clubs, dance halls, homeless hostels, and the streets of Jackson Heights, ultimately takes him to a place he could have never predicted.
