One of Disney’s most anticipated classics arrives in DVD this October 7, 2008, “Sleeping Beauty”. This beloved fairy tale is part of the Platinum Edition. In celebration of its 50th anniversary and for a limited time only, in a two disc set. As part of the celebration, Sleeping Beauty 50th anniversary will be making history in the world of Disney classics for being the first Disney animated classic film to be released in the Blu-ray format.

This timeless classic is presented in a never before seen expanded version of the film, with the magic and surprises typical of the wonderful world of Disney. This expanded widescreen version gives viewers the opportunity to fall into the magic world of this beautiful fairy tale like never before. People will be stunned with this perfectly done restoration of the film enhancing the magic experience. The 2.55:1 aspect ratio gives a new visual appreciation of this tale, making it a beautiful adaptation to today’s TV set technology. Wider scenes means more of the film to see, taking the film to a whole new level. It is just amazing to see how Disney was able to restore this beloved classic, by adding expanded scenes making it look like a film that was just released today.

Not just the picture was restored in this platinum edition, also the sound was upgraded with an all new 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix (DEHT) that completes the delightful experience of this memorable classic. Disney Home Entertainment has done it again with this platinum edition, making it a must see and have before it goes back to the Disney’s vault.

Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition two disc set presentation is very similar to the one of previous platinum editions. Loaded with new bonuses and features that will keep the whole family entertained.

This new digitally restored video comes with many surprises typical of the wonderful world of Disney. This release includes songs like ” I Wonder”, “Sleeping Beauty” and “Once Upon A Dream”, which also included as a music video of the same song performed by Emily Osment from the Hannah Montana TV show. As well commentary that explains the voice casting which give much personality to the characters. Another feature is the never before seen alternate opening, which show a discovered a 1952 storyboards on how the film’s opening was plan as a musical. Also the DVD includes a couple games that will keep the entire family fully entertain. “Briar Rose’s Enchanted Dance Game”, where kids get the opportunity to learn how to dance Waltz and the usual feature “Fun with English Game” and much more. A must have DVD for the upcoming Holidays.
